What happened with your weather in the past week or so?

March 31, 2013 was a sunny Easter Sunday with temperatures in the upper 50's. The wind made it feel a little chilly but not bad for March 31!

The first day of spring did not feel that way. It wasn't 53 for very long. Most of the day was cloudy and the temperatures were in the mid-20s to mid-30s. We went on a field trip to the May Museum in Fremont, NE. Mrs. Stormberg's class took a picture on the front steps.

Two days later Mrs. Grueber's class took an outside picture. It doesn't feel like the third day of spring when we keep getting snow!

March 11 - Yea! Another snow day. We had 7" of snow Saturday night through Sunday night. It wasn't the snow that was so bad. It was the ice that came before it and strong winds out of the north that made highways snow and ice-packed and driving dangerous. Many of our students have to drive 10-20 miles or more or ride buses to get to school so we have the day off. By this afternoon, it is 35ยบ and the sun is shining so the roads will be clear in time for school tomorrow. The rest of the week will be in the mid-30s but will warm into the mid-50's by the end of the week.

February 6 - The weather this week started out cold (15 degrees F) but starting mid-week we are going to be warming up into the upper 40's. We might even get into the 50's by the end of the week! We'll love that!

Story:

Tell about a stereotype about your country/area. Can you tell us what parts are true or what parts are false?
Often people from other parts of the country think that everyone who goes to school in small towns live on farms. Some of us live on farms, but more live in town, on small acreages or along side of lakes. As far as weather... As you can tell, our temperatures can jump up and down a lot during a single day. In Nebraska (as in many places) the saying is "If you don't like our weather, wait a minute or two and it will change."
